Updates to data quality tests.

We tested the EUDR IS system in TRACES and updated our tests accordingly, so Verify now helps catch all errors before uploading farm plots.

Updates to protected areas datasets

Peru, India, and Indonesia have improved datasets to reduce false positives of sourcing from within protected areas with agriculture permissions.

Expansion of Indigenous peoples and local communities coverage

Now covering Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru, and Venezuela, with updated reference data for Ecuador

EUDR requires agriculture to be deforestation-free, legally sourced, and compliant with FPIC principles (Free, Prior, and Informed Consent) under the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This ensures Indigenous and local communities have control over land use decisions. Farm plots in these areas are classified as medium risk, and we provide guidance on relevant local legal frameworks for due diligence.

Public and commercial deforestation maps updated

Public deforestation maps are updated for Peru and India to use the JRC Global Forest Cover 2020 v2, Tropical Moist Forest and Hansen tree cover loss datasets up to 2023. Commercial maps for Ethiopia and Venezuela have been updated.
